Dear residents,

It is with sadness that we announce that our current Chairman, Josh Greenwold has decided to step down from the Parish Council. Bravely stepping into the breach at a time when the Parish Council was without an obvious leader, Josh has fairly and humbly carried out those duties bestowed upon him over the last few years, exhibiting wisdom, practicality and humour in equal measure. We would like to thank him for his dedication and hard work.

Looking to the future, this now leaves the Parish Council with three vacancies and a real opportunity to bring in new expertise that can build upon the good work that is already going on.

As a community we have recently been awarded Essex Village of the Year, have an emerging neighbourhood plan that should put us in the driving seat when it comes to development in years to come, better relationships with our key providers of community facilities than ever before and a very successful annual village event as just a few of the many highlights.

In order to continue this success we do however need the Parish Council to be at full strength and would value expressions of interest from anyone within our community who would like to join us – everyone has skills and view that will be a valuable contribution.

If you are interested in one of the vacancies, please contact Katherine Kane at parish.clerk@eightashgreen.com in the first instance.

Our next formal Parish Council Meeting is on the 12th September at 7.30pm in the village hall.
