Turkey Cock Lane Road Closure Notice

The Essex County Council (Turkey Cock Lane, Stanway) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2016

Attached for your attention a copy of the Public Notice relating to the above, which will appear in the Colchester Evening Gazette on the 13 October 2016.

A further Notice will appear in the same paper on 20 October 2016 and the Orders will be made on 20 October 2016. The Order will come into effect on 25 October 2016 and the restriction will last for the duration of the works.

 

 

 

The Essex County Council (Turkey Cock Lane, Stanway) (Temporary

Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2016

 

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984.

 

Effect of the order:  To temporarily close that length of Turkey Cock Lane, in the Parish of Stanway in the Borough of Colchester from its junction with London Road, north for a distance of approximately 200 metres.

 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th October 2016 for one day or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while provision of telegraph pole and cable drop is undertaken.

 

The alternative route will be via Turkey Cock Lane, Seven Star Green, Halstead Road, Essex Yeomanry Way, Western Approach, London Road and vice versa.

 

Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

 

The Order will come into effect on 25th October 2016 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
